Last night after President Obama's SOTU, Fox Noise, in all it's wisdom, offered up political commentary. The stellar comedy, er, commentary was spewed by none other than the Queen of word salad speaking, Sarah Palin.
Now, after listening to her espouse nonsense, I am reminded of another great speaker. None other than Oswald bates from In Living Color!
At least Oswald didn't run for V.P. and was genuinely funny! Sarah, Sarah, now we know where you picked up your style!
Although the year started out on a sad note I looked forward to better days. Politically, I honestly thought Sarah Palin would gain some humility and silence herself for a change. Little did I realize the depths of her narcissistic depravity!
Alas, my hopes were dashed. What with last night's 60 minutes segment and the new book Game Change, once again America is subjected to insanity. Deeper we delve into tabloid politics.
I must say though that John McCain should hang his head in shame for what he attempted to foist on America. A wholly unqualified political neophyte that took the job because it was "God's Plan". Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot! Reminds me of a song:
Bahahahaha. It must have been God's plan for her to lose. Yay!
And it gets worse. She's been hired by Fox News. Hopefully that takes her out of any 2012 running. I actually don't think she was ever running in 2012. I think she was just continuing her grifting. Thankfully, I don't watch Fox but for those that do the mind-numbing ignorance factor just ratcheted up a few notches. What a sad statement about the state of America.
That woman is everywhere..in my newspaper, on my teevee, on my internets. She's inescapable and I'm drowning in her image. LOL So anyway, I was trying to find a song that would fit Sarah Palin. Searching youtube, searching my CD's, searching. And then it came to me like a blinding Northern light--flash!
Check out those lyrics. Perfect. That's what I see, a cult of personality. Now, to be sure, the Palinistas will say the same about President Obama but it's only in their minds they think he's been ordained by God. Sarah actually has said God's opening doors for her. Ew, Ew, Ew.

Well, I've been watching and reading for four days now the laughable final political saga of Sarah Palin and I have to say: typical. This narcissistic woman has proved to the nation and world that she is nothing politically; an empty shell. While her quitting her term in the middle of her governorship surprised many it was her style. She did the same thing when she was on the oil and gas board in Alaska. So when the going gets tough, she whines and quits. All done for attention. She doesn't like anyone to tell her or ask her to do things according to the way things should be done. Her elevation to Governor was little more than a political fluke accomplished by Alaskans that were tired of their previous Governor and thought, wrongly I might add, that Sarah would be better. Boy, were they wrong and fooled. Fooled by a woman that talked tough but had no substance.
Her rambling typical Sarah-speak incoherent I'm quitting speech was a sight to behold. Of course she whined and blamed everyone else for her ineffective governing. She blamed the media, bloggers and anyone else that disagreed with her. I remember Sarah having the temerity to lecture Hillary Clinton about complaining when Hillary was running for President.
Seems Sarah should have taken her own advice! She complained about remarks about her family. The family that she put in the national spotlight. I'll tell you that woman hasn't put up with 1 tenth of what Hillary Clinton has over the years. Hillary is light years ahead of Sarah in knowledge and class.
The thought that John Mccain portrayed such terrible judgment in choosing this woman as his running mate speaks volumes. I can't imagine her as VP or, heaven forbid, President. Imagine if some world leader insulted her or said something she didn't like. What would she have done in response? Started a war or just whined and quit?
During her campaign she brought out the absolute worst in people that attended her events. The racists, the ugly and the ill-informed and hateful. Real America my ass. Real nasty America. That turned off many that possibly would have voted for McCain. One of those people was my Republican-forever-voting Father. She did sink his campaign whether she likes that or not and whether McCain's handlers ever admit that or not.
Now she can go on her merry way and make oodles of money giving nasty speeches and writing ( seriously, does anyone actually presume that this woman will truly write her own book) her foolish book. Now she'll have no handlers or advisers. Now she'll be able to say any stupid thing that jumps around in her flighty brain. This could get interesting and more laughable.
She and her lawyer, Van Flein, are threatening to sue bloggers. OMG. Does this woman not understand the meaning of free speech and that she is a public figure? Obviously not but any letter from her lawyer to cease and desist is nothing more than intimidation. Good luck trying to sue anyone, Sarah. IMO, she's nothing more than an empty suit and painted clogs...a crappy politician and a vindictive wench. Now come get me, Sarah. Pffffft!
She can also stop saying she's doing this for the country! LMAO Please, woman, go away. You've done nothing for this country except show yourself to be an ignorant jackass. And she's certainly not making any headway for women like she thinks. Good grief, I've put up with more nonsense in my jobs than she ever will...probably because I'm older than she is and have seen women actually make advances in spite of harassment at times. She has shown that, like some men, there are still some truly ignorant women out there that assume reasonable good looks can carry the day even if one is completely lacking in knowledge.
Thankfully, she ended her own national political career. She did prove to be an exercise in complete failure. Now,if she'd just end the whining!

In part 2, Palin gives her definition of what constitutes a terrorist. Bill Ayers of course but not abortion clinic bombers according to Sarah. McCain still ragging on about not knowing the extent of relationship of Ayers and Obama. How utterly stupid.
Next they both give their definition of who or what is an elite. My gawd, this woman can't string a coherent sentence together. McCain insults. NYC and DC.
Buwahahaha Palin is asked if she's a feminist! Remember McCain went after the liberal feminists. Oh sheesh, she really thinks she represents American women...I don't think so..also, also, also.
Brian Williams interview with McCain and Palin. My heavens that woman is clueless. She never answers a question. She just talks word salad, you betcha, also. Gah! Help save the English language from her. McCain reminds me of, well, just ewwww. That nasty smirk of his is annoying. These 2 people look very uncomfortable with each other. She'll release her medical records she says when all along the campaign said no way. John seems a tad testy in parts. It's a long video---nearly 12 minutes. I think they know they are losing.

Yep, 100,000 people showed up today in St. Louis according to the Wall Street Journal. Simply amazing.
I am so tired of Republicans trying to divide this country by calling those of us not supporting McCain/Palin anti-American or un-American. Yesterday we had Palin talking about pro-American parts of the country and Rep. Michele Bachmann(R-MN) asking the media to begin an in depth anti-American McCarthyesque expose on Democratic members of the House and Senate. Bachman's rhetoric may nail her as her opponent, El Tinklenberg, has raised over $177,000 ( at this time of writing and climbing ) from over 4000 donors in the 24 hours since she made her ignorant remark. You can donate to him here if you wish. I did because that woman needs to leave Congress. Then this afternoon we had Nancy Pfotenhauer say that Northern Virginia is not the real Virginia. Sheesh, what the heck is with these people? Desperation is not a pretty sight in the McCain campaign.
This is the third video in a wonderful series on the real Sarah Palin. This video discusses her claim as a fiscal conservative. In today's economic distress, it's fundamental that voters understand Palin's slight of hand when it comes to fiscal responsibility. Her economic understanding and ability appears to be non-existent.

I take issue with using religion in the political arena. I remember reading how Sarah announced herself as the Christian running for mayor in Wasilla as though her opponent, John Stein, was something other...think Jew because of his last name. He's not, he's a Christian. But things got so ugly that he and his wife were forced to produce their marriage certificate all because his wife had kept her maiden name. Even with that done there were people that said it could've been forged! Sheesh, reminds me of all the nonsense over Barack Obama's birth certificate. The film discusses the issue of abortion that came up in Wasilla due to Sarah's injection of religion in local politics. This is another in their series of well made informational films.
What was the McCain campaign thinking in having Palin drop the puck at the opening game of the Flyers at the Wachovia Center? While the owner of the Flyers is huge GOP fan not all the audience were as noticed by the chorus of boos when Sarah Palin stepped on to the ice. Now hockey fans at NHL games are notoriously rowdy so why did she bring her 2 daughters Piper and Willow? She had to know she would get booed, right? Well, in fact, she did expect that and used her daughter Piper as a political shield. Courtesy of Fox News:
The GOP Vice-Presidential nominee said at an earlier fundraiser that she would stop some of the booing from the rowdy Philadelphia fans by putting her seven year old daughter, Piper in a Flyers jersey. She said, “How dare they boo Piper!"
Wow, that's just despicable. I'm stunned a parent would use a child in this fashion. She needs to stop trotting out the kids and then having the McCain campaign complain when anyone brings them up. Funny how Sarah doesn't seem to think they're off limits when she thinks they'll provide her some political capital.
Here's video of the event. You can hear the booing but you can also hear how they turned the music up to try and drown it out. People that attended the event said it was deafening...but you'd never be able to tell that from the AP reports in most papers. AP is such a tool.
What was funny were the Obama/Biden signs held up while Palin was on the ice.
This is now the new line from Sarah Palin in her attacks against Barack Obama. But what she's doing is taking his statement out of context. His original statement from March 2008 was:
"When it comes specifically to HIV/AIDS, the most important prevention is education, which should include -- which should include abstinence education and teaching the children -- teaching children, you know, that sex is not something casual," he said.
"But it should also include -- it should also include other, you know, information about contraception because, look, I've got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old," he added.
"I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby,"
I hate to tell Sarah, but having a baby when you're not ready can be a punishment. If she doesn't care for the word punishment she can substitute that with many others. How about devastating. It's not the baby itself, it's the life situation of having that child at a young age that can be punishment. Her parsing of words completely misconstrues the message Obama was talking about. She ought to look at what life has in store for her own 17 year old pregnant daughter. I've seen that movie before in my own family.
My younger sister became pregnant at 16 and,like Bristol will have, had a shot gun wedding. It turned out to be a nightmare. Her education stopped. By the time she was 18 she had 2 children and a drunken, abusive husband. He beat her up the night they were married, pregnant and all. In the next 8 years of that marriage he not only beat her but the children as well. I saw what he did and was shocked. I implored her to leave but she was scared and thought religion demanded she stay married...to suffer through it. But it wasn't just her suffering; it was also her children. The final straw was the day he put a loaded gun to her head. That was when she finally had the courage to leave.
But the effects of her situation only became graver. Now she was on her own with 2 young children, no education and an ex that refused to pay the $50 a month child support the court ordered. For a time she sank into a world of drugs, alcohol and depression. She struggled to make ends meet; ended up on welfare for a time before finally settling into life as an underpaid, overstressed factory worker. Sadly, she'd had dreams of being an accountant; she had been amazing with numbers and bookkeeping in school but as a single Mom she had no money or time to think about going back to school.
Thankfully both her children turned out to be successful. One has graduated from college and the other manages a Walgreens. They had great support from the rest of us. However, not every family has that kind of support structure. But my sister? Today she's 53 years old and suffers from depression and is still fighting her way through life working 2 jobs...factory worker and maid at the hometown Hilton Hotel.
Now, this story is not to advocate for abortion. It's to advocate for education. Comprehensive, appropriate sex education to include the teaching of abstinence. Not simply abstinence only. It amazes me how so many think information will "cause" their child to have sex and that will lead to abortion. How silly. If teens have the correct information they are able to make better choices which can, in turn, reduce the number of pregnancies and abortions. But let me be clear, I do support a woman's right to choose but I want them all to be informed first.
If Sarah Palin thinks that teens being taught abstinence only and having babies so young is not punishment I have a bridge in Alaska to sell her.
The Alaskan Supreme Court made it's ruling today in the Troopergate investigation. In a short 2 page ruling they had this to say to the 6 Appellants :
IT IS ORDERED: The order of the superior court issued on October 2, 2008 granting the Motion to Dismiss is AFFIRMED. An opinion will follow.
Entered at the direction of the full court.
Excellent. Short and swift. This upheld a lower court ruling that stated that McCain and crew couldn't block the investigation and that it is lawful. I get the feeling they don't like those Texas lawyers the McCain team sent in to mess with their political system. Say what you want about Alaska producing the likes of Sarah Palin, but they are proud and independent and not about to take any guff from outsiders.
The Alaska Supreme Court today rejected an attempt by a group of six Republican legislators to shut down the Legislature's investigation of Gov. Sarah Palin.
The ruling means that Steve Branchflower, the investigator hired by the Legislative Council, will release his report as scheduled on Friday. Branchflower is looking into Palin's dismissal of her public safety commissioner, Walt Monegan, and whether she improperly pressured him to fire a state trooper divorced from her sister.
The state Supreme Court rejected an appeal by Texas-based Liberty Legal Institute and Anchorage attorney Kevin Clarkson, who filed the lawsuit on behalf of the Alaska Republican state legislators opposed to their colleagues' investigation.
Branchflower's report is due out tomorrow. Maybe that's why the McCain campaign has been flinging so much poo in recent days. I'm sure they're not happy with this development. Tough.
Some of Todd Palin's responses to the subpoena he received have already been released. Basically he's trying to take all the blame for firing the trooper saying Sarah didn't know what he was up to. Well, that's just so much horse puckey because it was Sarah that had him fired, not Todd. Todd has no elected power in the Governor's office. Gee, maybe Sarah shouldn't have been cc'ing Alaska government business to old Todd.

The ugliness is now on full display at McCain and Palin rallies. Yesterday's actions by some in the crowd were appalling. I was listening to Palin's rally when I heard that fool yell "KILL HIM." I assumed it was in reference to Palin yammering on about Bill Ayers but that's not really the point. The point is someone must be seriously disturbed to yell that kind of ugly garbage at a rally for a VP candidate. And it wasn't nastiness leveled only towards Ayers and Obama. It was also hurled towards the media covering the event. As Dana Milbank wrote in the Washington Post a sound man was treated to racially tinged remarks:
Worse, Palin's routine attacks on the media have begun to spill into ugliness. In Clearwater, arriving reporters were greeted with shouts and taunts by the crowd of about 3,000. Palin then went on to blame Katie Couric's questions for her "less-than-successful interview with kinda mainstream media." At that, Palin supporters turned on reporters in the press area, waving thunder sticks and shouting abuse. Others hurled obscenities at a camera crew. One Palin supporter shouted a racial epithet at an African American sound man for a network and told him, "Sit down, boy."
It made me ask myself what kind of people are attending the rallies. Is violent rhetoric really what the Republicans want to foment? Unfortunately I now do believe that's exactly the kind of ugly words they want to hear.
Now, McCain's rally wasn't much better. I also listened to him and heard someone yell TERRORIST after McCain questioned who Sen. Obama really is. Some people have said McCain looked surprised at that remark. I didn't see it that way. I thought he looked pleased with himself that he had elicited such a comment. It reminded me of the question asked of McCain during the primaries in reference to Hillary Clinton: How do we beat the bitch?
What I see playing out is the McCain/Palin team attempting to scare Americans by framing Barack Obama as "the other". As some kind of scary black guy with suspicious connections. Frankly, I find it disturbing. Disturbing that the party that behaves as though it owns Christianity can so freely hurl disgusting invectives. It's not a matter of simply disagreeing with political stances between the parties. It's the wholesale hatred that seems to embody a frenzied crowd. It's the hatred on display that some Republican supporters have for fellow Americans.
I've attended Obama rallies and you never hear the kind of garbage that was yelled at the McCain/Palin rallies expressed there. You'll hear boos when differing policies are mentioned but never the violent rhetoric. Obama's rallies are much more positive. And why shouldn't they be? After 8 years of Bush and crew we need to hope for a better future. We need to understand that it's going to take all of us, as Americans, pulling together to straighten out the mess we're in now.
It will not be easy to deal with what we have on our hands...2 wars, a financial nightmare, an outrageous lack of vision for America, no real plan for energy independence and a thousand other things that must be addressed. However, I'm not willing to succumb to the peddling of fear. I believe we can fix our problems and am ready and willing to do my part. I believe that with Obama as President we can all, once again, believe in what we can accomplish.
Ugliness will not help America recover from her ills. It only serves to drive us further apart. If this is all the McCain/Palin ticket has to say then it tells me they know they are losing and have no message to take America forward.
