I got up and thought it was a bit too chilly. So I went about messing with the thermostat...no heat regardless of how high I turned it up. Then I went down to the furnace. It was running but no heat. I unplugged it, waited a while, plugged it back in and still nothing. Then I thought it must be the igniter. Not having one I called the furnace guys (they've been dealing with the furnaces in both houses here for 30 years from initial installation to constant monitoring). They laughed when I told them that now it was the main house furnace and sent they Pat out to fix it. Sure enough the igniter had a crack in it. Got that replaced and it's all good now.
So, that's enough furnace nuttiness for me. Our home in Illinois still has no heat since a whole new furnace needs to be put in there. Tom has to find the time to take a day off to be there for that to get done and it's not easy for a lawyer to take a day off. Oh well, as long as it's replaced before I drive back there sometime in October!
The furnace in the guest house will be replaced this summer after we do some architectural work and also replace the roof.
So, anyway, a sense of humor is essential. Not only to living so far away from everything but in just dealing with everyday situations regardless. It's better to laugh and shake your head than run around screaming with your hair on fire...although sometimes that's also good for your mental health!
So , I'm NOT doing any moving today and have decided to just spend the day outside with the dogs enjoying the peace.
